# Build with Vedika

Always call the calculation endpoints for dates, places and charts. Never let the model guess a tithi or planet position.

Keep VEDIKA_API_KEY on the server. Start with the keyless sandbox; label mock results, which can ignore inputs. Use only documented paths and fields from the pinned public spec; refresh the spec before relying on a changed API. Call the services “Vedika AI models”. Do not name underlying vendors.

Read the relevant reference before implementing:

- [Auth and keys](references/auth.md): base URLs, server credentials and environments.
- [Birth charts and kundli](references/charts.md): birth details and historical place resolution.
- [Panchang](references/panchang.md): a date and place, tithi and nakshatra.
- [Matching](references/matching.md): two complete birth records and compatibility results.
- [AI chat and streaming](references/chat.md): calculated facts first, then an explanation.
- [PDFs and reports](references/reports.md): catalog, generation and conditional binary responses.
- [Errors and retries](references/errors.md): status handling and bounded retries.
- [Pricing](references/pricing.md): current catalog and receipts, no fixed-price promises.
- [Harness embed and agent SDK](references/harness.md): separate Bearer-authenticated wire contract.
- [MCP](references/mcp.md): existing remote server and tool discovery.

The calculation spec is [references/openapi.json](references/openapi.json). Some operations document examples rather than strict schemas: do not infer required fields or additional response guarantees. If a field is missing, show unavailable; never calculate or fabricate a replacement. Keep AI explanations distinct from calculation results. Render returned text safely.

Build a server adapter, a usable form and result view, and fixture tests with network disabled.
