Usage Policy

About this policy

This Usage Policy sets the rules for using Vedika: the API, the SDKs, the MCP server, the dashboard, the Playground and every integration we publish. It is part of our Terms of Service, so breaking it is breaking the Terms.

It applies to everyone with a Vedika account and to every product built on Vedika. If you build an app on our API, you are responsible for how your app and its users use Vedika, and you must make sure they follow this policy too.

Vedika produces astrology: calculations from birth data, and interpretations written by AI from those calculations. Astrology is a cultural and personal practice. It does not predict events with certainty and it is not a substitute for a qualified professional. The rules below follow from that.

1. Standards for everyone

1.1 Obey the law. Do not use Vedika to break any law that applies to you, your business or your users, including consumer protection, data protection, advertising and anti-fraud laws.

1.2 Do not harm people. Do not use Vedika to harass, threaten, shame or intimidate anyone, to encourage self-harm or violence, or to target someone because of their religion, caste, gender, sexuality, disability, ethnicity or nationality.

1.3 Do not deceive or exploit people. In particular, do not:

  • frighten people into paying, for example by warning of a misfortune that only a paid remedy, ritual or product can prevent;
  • promise outcomes such as marriage, wealth, recovery from illness or success in a court case;
  • present a reading as certain fact, or as coming from a human astrologer when no human was involved;
  • run scams, impersonate others, or write fake reviews or testimonials.

1.4 Treat birth data as personal data. A date, time and place of birth identify a person. Collect it only with the person's knowledge and for a purpose they understand, keep it secure, and do not use readings to profile, rank or exclude people without their clear agreement.

1.5 No illegal or abusive content. Do not use Vedika to create or spread content that sexualises minors, promotes terrorism or violent extremism, or is otherwise illegal.

1.6 Respect the service. Do not share or sell API keys, get around rate limits or billing, probe or attack our systems without written permission, copy our outputs in bulk to build a competing dataset or model, or send malicious code.

2. Adults only

Vedika accounts are for people aged 18 or older. When you sign up we ask for your date of birth; we keep only whether you are 18 or older, never the date itself. Accounts that existed before 10 October 2026 confirm their age when they accept this policy.

If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we restrict it: it cannot create API keys or make payments. If you think we made a mistake, write to [email protected].

Products built on Vedika may serve younger people only under the extra rules for high-risk uses in section 3.

3. High-risk uses

Some uses can seriously affect a person's health, money, rights or opportunities. We call these high-risk uses. They are:

  • Health and wellbeing: anything that touches diagnosis, treatment, medication, pregnancy, mental health or other medical choices;
  • Money, investing and credit: investment, trading, lending, credit or other financial choices;
  • Insurance: cover, pricing or claims;
  • Legal matters: legal rights, disputes, court cases or contracts;
  • Hiring and employment: recruitment, promotion, pay or dismissal;
  • Housing: renting, buying, tenancy or eviction;
  • Services used by people under 18.

If your product is used for any of these, you must tell us in the dashboard, and you must meet all three of these requirements:

  • A professional reviews first. A qualified person in the field (a doctor, financial adviser, lawyer, insurance professional, recruiter or housing professional, or a parent or guardian for a minor) reviews the output before anyone relies on it.
  • Users are told plainly. Every user sees, before or alongside the output, that it is AI-generated astrology and not medical, financial, legal or other professional advice.
  • No automated decisions about people. Output from Vedika must never decide, on its own or as a deciding factor, whether a person is hired, insured, lent money, housed, treated or admitted to anything.

We may ask how you meet these requirements, and we review accounts that declare a high-risk use. Declaring one does not by itself limit your account.

4. Rules for consumer apps built on Vedika

If people outside your organisation use a product built on Vedika, you must:

  • tell them that readings are generated by AI from astrological calculations, and that they are for reflection and entertainment, not certain predictions or professional advice;
  • never describe AI-written output as written or checked by a human astrologer unless a person actually wrote or checked it;
  • explain in your privacy notice that you collect birth details, why, and who processes them (including Vedika as your service provider);
  • give users a way to contact you, and to have their birth details deleted;
  • keep your own terms and age rules consistent with this policy.

You may show that your product uses Vedika, but you may not suggest that Vedika endorses your product without our written agreement.

5. Enforcement

When we find a breach of this policy, we respond in proportion to the harm. We may:

  • warn you and ask you to fix the problem by a date;
  • restrict parts of your account, for example by lowering rate limits, pausing specific features, or blocking new API keys or payments;
  • suspend your account or API keys while we investigate;
  • terminate your account for serious or repeated breaches.

Usually we warn you first and explain what is wrong. We act without warning when there is a risk of serious harm to people, a legal duty to act, or a threat to the security of the service.

Appeals. If you disagree with a decision, email [email protected] with the subject "Appeal" and explain why. We review every appeal, tell you the outcome and the reason, and reverse decisions that were wrong.

6. Reporting misuse

If you see Vedika being used in a way that breaks this policy, tell us at [email protected]. Include the app or website, what you saw and when. We do not share who reported a problem without their permission, unless the law requires it.

7. Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we publish the new version here with a new effective date and a line in the changelog below. For material changes we also ask every account holder to read and accept the new version in the dashboard, and we record which version each account accepted.

Changelog

  • 10 October 2026 (this version). First published Usage Policy. It replaces the draft Acceptable Use Policy of 27 September 2026 and the short "Acceptable Use" section that used to sit inside the Terms. New: standards for everyone, the 18-or-older rule, extra requirements for high-risk uses, rules for consumer apps, and how enforcement and appeals work.
