Effective 27 October 2026 · Version 2026-10-27

Vedika Startup Program Terms

The rules for Vedika for Startups, the program that grants Vedika API credits to eligible companies. It is run by XALEN Technology Private Limited (CIN U62099PN2026PTC250291), Pune, Maharashtra, India ("Vedika", "we", "us").

1About these terms

These terms apply when you apply to Vedika for Startups, or receive credits from it. They add to our Terms of Service, our Usage Policy and our Privacy Policy, which still apply to everything you do with Vedika. If one of those documents disagrees with these terms about the program, these terms govern, and only for the program.

If you apply for a company, "you" means that company, and the person applying confirms they can bind it. These terms are version 2026-10-27. Your application records the version you accepted.

2Eligibility

To be eligible you must meet every point below.

  • You are an incorporated company: a private limited company, LLP or OPC in India, or an equivalent company registered elsewhere.
  • You were founded in the last 10 years, counted from the date of incorporation.
  • You are building a product or service on the Vedika API, for your own use.
  • You are not a government body, and you are not a party on a sanctions list that applies to you or to us.
  • The person applying has the authority to apply and to accept these terms for the company.
  • Neither you nor any affiliate has received an award from this program before.

Meeting these conditions lets you apply. It does not entitle you to credits.

3Tiers and credits

The program has three tiers. Amounts are credits in US dollars.

TierCreditWho it is for
LaunchUSD 1,000Indian companies recognised by DPIIT. A company whose recognition is pending may apply and must supply the number under section 4.
ScaleUSD 5,000Companies with a live product and paying customers, or with funding from angels, accelerators, incubators or government seed schemes such as the Startup India Seed Fund Scheme.
FundedUSD 10,000Companies with equity funding from an institutional venture fund or accelerator on our partner list, or one we can verify, shown by a public evidence link.

You say which tier you want. We decide the tier and the amount. We may approve a lower tier or a smaller amount than you asked for. We will not grant a company more than USD 10,000 under the program.

4DPIIT recognition and the 90-day window

If your company is recognised by DPIIT, you give us the recognition number and date when you apply. If you have applied and are waiting, you may still apply. You must then give us the number and the recognition date within 90 days of the day you submit the application, using the private status link we send you. The 90 days run from submission, not from approval.

If we do not receive them in time, we may withhold the credits or revoke credits already granted, and any unused part lapses. Giving us a number does not stop us checking it.

5Verification

We check what you tell us. We may look at public sources such as company registries, funding announcements, news, funding databases, your website and your LinkedIn profile. We may check a DPIIT number against DPIIT records. Where you name an investor, we may write to that investor, using the contact you give or one we find publicly, to confirm the investment. A pitch deck is not accepted as evidence of funding.

We may ask you for more information and pause the review until you reply. If you do not reply within a reasonable time, we may close the application. You agree to these checks when you accept the consent on the application form.

6Credits

  • A credit is a USD amount added to the wallet of your Vedika account. It can pay only for Vedika API usage on that account.
  • Credits are valid for 12 months from the day we grant them. Whatever is left after that lapses. Credits do not roll over and are not refunded.
  • Credits have no cash value. They cannot be withdrawn, refunded or exchanged for money.
  • Credits belong to the account that receives them. You may not transfer them to another account or company, sell them, or pass them to your own customers as credit or as raw API access.
  • Credits go to the Vedika account with the email you named in your application. We cannot grant them until that account exists.
  • Usage beyond your credits is charged at Vedika's list prices, under your plan and the Terms of Service.

7One award per company

Each company, together with its affiliates, can receive one award. An affiliate is a company that controls you, is controlled by you, or shares control with you. The tier is fixed when we approve the application.

If you later qualify for a higher tier, you can send a new application with new evidence. We decide it on its own merits and take into account credits you have already received. We may refuse an application that looks like an attempt to receive more than one award.

8Acceptable use

The Usage Policy applies to everything you do with credits. In addition, you must not:

  • share API keys outside your company;
  • resell raw API access, or let others spend your credits as if they were their own;
  • use Vedika to benchmark or to build a service that competes with Vedika; or
  • present astrology outputs as medical, legal or financial advice, or as a certain prediction of what will happen.

9Revocation and suspension

We may withhold, suspend or revoke credits, and end your participation in the program, if:

  • information in your application is false or misleading;
  • you do not supply the DPIIT number in time;
  • you abuse the program or the API;
  • we suspect fraud;
  • you break these terms, the Terms of Service or the Usage Policy; or
  • you do not pay what you owe us.

Where we can, we will tell you first and let you respond. We may act at once when we need to stop harm. When credits are revoked, the unused part lapses. Revocation does not cancel charges for usage you have already incurred.

10Publicity

We will not use your name or logo to promote the program unless you tick the optional box on the application. If you do, you allow us to list your company name and logo as a Vedika for Startups member on our website and in our materials. You can withdraw that permission at any time by writing to [email protected], and we will take it out of new material within a reasonable time. Leaving the box unticked does not affect your application.

11Your information

What we collect. The answers on the application (company, founder, contact, product, funding, DPIIT and usage), the consents you give, a hashed form of your IP address, and the date you submitted.

Why. To assess and verify your application, to decide it, to grant and manage credits, to contact you about it, to prevent abuse and, if you tick the optional box, to send you product updates.

Who sees it. The Vedika staff who run the program, the providers that host our data and send our email, and, for verification, the investor you name and public sources. Internal notifications about an application name the company and tier, not the people. We do not sell your information.

How long. We keep it while your application is open and for as long as we need it to run any grant, keep accounts and deal with disputes. After that we delete it or make it anonymous.

Your rights. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask to see your data, correct it, have it erased and withdraw your consent. Write to [email protected], the contact given in our Privacy Policy, which has more detail. If you withdraw consent to the checks in section 5, we may not be able to continue with your application or your credits.

12Changes and ending the program

We may change these terms or the program, or end the program, at any time. We will post changes on this page and update the date. If a change would materially reduce credits already granted to you, it takes effect only after 30 days' notice to the work email on your application. Other changes apply from the date we post them.

Our decisions on applications, tiers, amounts, verification and revocation are at our discretion and are final.

13No partnership, no warranty, limit of liability

The program does not make us your partner, joint venturer, agent or investor, and gives us no stake in your company. Credits and the Vedika service are provided as they are. We do not promise approval, any particular result, or service without interruption beyond what the Terms of Service say.

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you for anything connected with the program is limited to the value of the credits granted to you. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law does not allow us to limit.

14Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Pune, Maharashtra have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes about the program, subject to any mandatory rights you have.
